Where do I go?
Blend Studios is located at 263 Livernois St. Ferndale, MI.
It is a 2-story teal building, and is unmarked. Enter through red door on side of building adjacent to driveway.
Where should I park?
There is a small lot in the back which can accommodate 4-5 cars, and there is also free street parking on Livernois.
what’s my job again?
I wear many hats in the studio—recording engineer, producer, mix engineer, and songwriter. For some clients, I handle everything; for others, just one role. The key is clarifying upfront how you’d like me involved, so we’re on the same page from the start.
Recording Engineer
I will capture your performance clearly using mics, preamps, compressors, and a DAW (Logic Pro is my preferred choice).
Rate: $40/hr
Producer
I can help bring your vision to life—shaping arrangements, guiding performances, suggesting musicians, or adding parts myself.
Rate: $60/hr
Mix Engineer
I will turn raw tracks into polished, professional mixes. Rate includes 2 revisions.
Rate: $200/song
Mastering Engineer
I will balance and finalize your songs so they sound consistent across an EP or album.
Rate: $100/song
Songwriter
I can contribute lyrics, chords, or melodies. If my input leads to a significant change you want to keep, we’ll discuss fair credit (usually royalties). Minor tweaks don’t require credit.
Example A: Full Band Recording
Your band comes to record 4 songs with me. These are finished songs and don’t require any additional instruments or production.
Session 1: 6 hours to record all instruments
Session 2: 4 hours to record all the vocals
Session 3: Mixing (typically takes me 2 hours per song)
Recording: 8hrs. @ $40/hr. = $360
Mixing: 4 songs @ $200/song = $800
I have recorded and mixed your EP for $1,160.Example B: Singer/Songwriter Production
You are a singer/songwriter that plays acoustic guitar. You have a song that you would like to do full production on (add drums, bass, guitar, keys, background vocals.)Session 1: 4 hours to lay down scratch guitar and vocals, and arrange the track using virtual drums and instruments as temporary placeholders.
Session 2: 4 hours to record a real drummer, final bass and guitars.
Session 3: 2 hours to record vocals/BGV.
Session 4: Mixing (typically 2 hours per song)
Pre-production: 4hrs @ $60/hr = $240
Recording: 6hrs @ $40/hr = $240
Mixing: $200

preparing for your session
Come prepared and have a plan. Reach out in advance to discuss your goals so we can make the most of our time together.
Planning: Please stick to the agreed plan so I can prep properly. No surprise guests or last-minute add-ons without notice.
Instruments: If you’re bringing your own, make sure it’s in good shape (fresh strings, setup, etc.). If you’d like to use one of mine, let me know ahead of time so I can have it ready.
Drums/Band: Full drum kits or live band setups require about an extra hour for miking and setup.
Cancellations: Please try not to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice.
